...International Muslims Organisation...

Norway...

IMO was introduced to Norway in 1983 by Hazrat Allama Pir Maulana Abdul Wahab Siddiqi (ra).  Hazrat Saheb (ra)’s seminars were some of the first events organised by the IMO in Norway.  Since then, there has been numerous conferences and functions celebrating Muslim festivals organised by the IMO.

The IMO in Norway enjoys the support of thousands of people who were the followers of the late Munazire Azam Maulana Muhammad Umar Icharvi (ra).  Additionally there are many Mureeds of the Naqshbandi Hijazi Sufi Order also resident in Norway who take are active participants of the IMO.

In conjunction with local organisations, the IMO has established a number of Mosques in Norway as well as enlisting the support of all the leading mainstream Scholars.  With such strong foundations, the IMO in Norway is consistently working towards building a cohesive, self aware Muslim community.

The way forward ...

The bravery and valour of Norwegians have been recognised since the time of the Vikings.  Today their courage is expressed in Norway not being afraid to reach out to different communities and cultures worldwide.  The IMO will continue to strengthen this process and provide further platforms of dialogue between Norway and other nations, particularly in the Muslim world.

In fact, Norway has long played the role of a friend to the Muslim world.  Its instrumental role in the Oslo accord is an example of the numerous positive contributions of Norway in upholding peace worldwide.  The IMO will engage in creating further opportunities for it to interface with Muslim people and governments around the world.
