There are many reports
of the "karamats"(miracles) of Hazrat Sahib (RA) where he
was the medium for qurification of impossible diseases. It would be
difficult to mention all the hundreds of miraculous qurification that
happened at the hands of Hazrat Sahib all over the world but just as
a sample a few examples are mentioned below. One such instance was a
lady from Blackburn, England, who was told by doctors that due to a
hole in her heart, she would not bare children as this may upset her
balance within the body and therefore can cause death. When she asked
Hazrat Sahib (RA) he commented that. Doctors say what is their opinion
from their knowledge, but what happens is by the will of Allah (swt)
and therefore advised the woman not to be afraid and go ahead with conception
of a baby. The same woman went on to conceive over four children.
One day Hazrat Sahib (ra) was summoned to Surinam , South America, in which a man by the name of Ilyas Charagh Ali had gone into coma for several days. The doctors had given him three days to live. When Hazrat Sahib (ra) arrived, 24hrs later he looked at Ilyas Charagh Ali and said after three days he will be reading Qaseedah of the Prophet (saw). In fact on the third day, Ilyas Charagh Ali woke up and the first thing he was looking for was his book containing Qaseedas of the Prophet (saw) and without reference to his strength or his physical condition he sang a qaseedah of the Prophet (saw) on his hospital bed and still to this day, lives as a living karamat of Hazrat Sahib (RA). There is a Khaleefah of Hazrat Sahib (ra) in Den Hague, Holland who is still living today who with three other people bares witness to the following incident which happened in Madina, Hijaz in 1982, in which it became very clear earlier on to the young mureeds of Hazrat Sahib (ra) that they had indeed given bai'ya to a truly great Wali Allah (friends of Allah). Haji Fateh Muhammad recalls that once we were leaving the Prophet's Mosque in Madinatul Munawwarah with Hazrat Sahib (ra) and three other murideen, and that Hazrat Sahib (ra) was approached by a common man who he had seen embrace Hazrat Sahib (ra) on a few occasions previously. On this occasion, he greeted Hazrat Sahib (ra) and invited Hazrat Sahib (ra) the following day to a 'mehfil-e-milaad' in his home in which he said that there will be a congregation of about fifty to sixty people. He said that they were all anxious to hear Hazrat Sahibs (RA) sermon and his guidance to them of Islamic values. Hazrat Sahib (ra) promised that he will be with them and told Haji Fateh Muhammad to take the address of the said person and directions, and he would be visiting that person after Esha prayers, the following day. The following day at Esha time, Hazrat Sahib (ra) was reported to be coming out of the Prophet's Mosque with the same people that were with him the previous day, and the people with him were expecting that they would now to take a taxi to that gentleman's home, who had promised the day before that he would come for milaad. Instead Hazrat Sahib (ra) said to Haji Fateh Muhammad that there is the house of great Muslim Scholar by the name of Sheikh Zia Uddin Qadri , the Khaleefah of A'la Hazrat, Azeemul Barkat, Shah Ahmed Raza Khan Barailwi. He instructed the people accompanying him including Haji Fateh Muhammad that we should go to Sheikh Zia Uddin's home as he had been invited there for the mehfil-e-milaad. In the awe of obedience, the murideen did not remind Hazrat Sahib (ra) of his obligations to the other man who had invited Hazrat Sahib (ra) also after isha prayers for mehfil-e-milaad. In any event, they followed Hazrat Sahib (ra) to the house of Sheikh Zia Uddin in which they found that they were assembled a group of about a hundred Ulema and VIP's of Madina. They sat when in this mehfil-e-milaad and the murideens were thinking that Hazrat Sahib (ra) would be spending a few moments here and excuse himself to go to the other mehfil. However, Hazrat Sahib (ra) sat there two and half hours after which when all the speeches were made, Hazrat Sahib (ra) was called as the last speaker and the guest of honour to deliver and sermon on the love of the Prophet (saw). By this time it was 10:30 pm and when Hazrat Sahib (ra) finished his sermon by 11:00 pm, food was served to which Hazrat Sahib (ra) sat and participated in. The murideen, including Haji Fateh Muhammad were very agitated and were disappointed with the fact that Hazrat Sahib (ra) had spent the whole of the evening sitting with Ulema and VIP's of Madina and had ignored a common man's invitation and they felt very sorry for the man. After dinner, Hazrat Sahib (ra) came out of the house of Sheikh Zia Uddin and instructed his murideen to go back to their hotels, as he would meet them the follow morning for tahajud in the Prophet's Mosque. Haji Fateh Muhammad recalls that we were even more disappointed as Hazrat Sahib (ra) had not only failed to attend the other mefil-e-milaad but had also failed to acknowledge that he had mistakenly not gone there and had spent most of the evening in the Sheikh Zia Uddin's mehfil. Despite this, all the murideens obediently went back to their hotels but with a heavy heart and in sympathy for that man who must have be bitterly disappointed. The following day, at zuhr time, the same four murideens were with Hazrat Sahib (ra) and were coming out of the Prophet's Mosque in order to go back to their hotels for a few hours rest. Haji Fateh Muhammad states that from a distance he saw the common man who had invited Hazrat Sahib (ra) the night before approaching Hazrat Sahib (ra) with speed. Remembering the disappointment of the night before, the murideen got ready to respond to this mans possible rudeness or potential physical assault because they thought that he would be extremely upset. In preparation of this, they came closer to Hazrat Sahib (ra) as the man approached Hazrat Sahib (RA). Fateh Muhammad states that he could not believe his eyes when the man finally approached Hazrat Sahib (RA), he quickly embraced Hazrat Sahib (ra) and kissed his hands and said very joyfully and tearfully to the murideen with Hazrat Sahib (RA), saying that 'you know the speech Hazrat Sahib (ra) gave last night was one of the best speeches that the congregation attending his home said that they ever heard. Dumbfounded and shocked by this comment, the murideen immediately realized that they had witnessed a karamat of Hazrat Sahib (RA). They were shocked as to how is it possible that Hazrat Sahib (ra) was with them the night before and yet this man is saying something differently. Hazrat Sahib (ra) smiled at Fateh Muhammad and the other murideen and in his usual aura of serenity, Hazrat Sahib (ra) instructed them not to narrate this incident until they are permitted to do so. He said such narration will interfere with the work I have to do for Allah (swt) but Allah gives power to his servants as he pleases. In 1985, Hazrat Sahib (ra) was in Madina
tul Munawarah, and thousands of murideen had gathered from around
the world to be able to accompany Hazrat Sahib (ra) during his ibadaat
(worship) and special supplication in the Prophet's Mosque in Madina.
One day Hazrat Sahib (ra) came out of his room and told murideen assembled
outside of his room that tomorrow they would receive special barakah,
as well as all the other Hajis. From this, the murideen understood
that this must mean different barakah and they waited the whole of
the next day and nothing happened until asr prayers. After the asr
prayers, Hazrat Sahib (ra) was reading his wazeefah (spiritual recitation
of holy verses in the remembrance of Allah (swt)) as customary, but
pointed to all of the murideen gathered to go and assemble in the
Prophet's Mosque. The words soon spread to other murideen and hundreds
of them congregated in the Prophet's Mosque in a short period of about
ten to fifteen minutes. They all bear witness to this day that as
soon as they congregated, it started to rain and they were able to
fill bottles of rain of water which had touched Gumbadi Khizla (the
green dome of the Prophet's Mosque). On or around December 1992, a man by the name of Zulfiqar Khan Noon came to see Hazrat Sahib (ra) in Coventry, England. I met him for a short while before he was introduced to Hazrat Sahib (ra) and during this conversation he explained to me the purpose and the background of his visit. He said that previously he had had no connection with Hazrat Sahib (ra) except the stories of Hazrat Sahib's (RA) generosity, spirituality and scholarly ability which he had listened too often from Ulema, but he had never met Hazrat Sahib (ra) before in his life. He said that one day in his dream he was standing outside of the Bab-e-Abdul Aziz, which is the door of King Abdul Aziz of the Haram in Makkah and those familiar with the Haram Shareef would know that outside the door of Bab-e-Abdul Aziz, there is a huge veranda where at peak times people use for prayer as well. He said he saw in his dream that there was a gathering of many hundreds of thousands of people in this veranda, outside of Bab-e-Abdul Aziz and all of these people where exclaiming and emphatically raising their hands and saying As'salatu wa salamu alaika Ya Rasool Allah' (salutations and blessings be upon you, Oh Messenger of Allah). He said I realized that they were all paying homage to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and I thought it fit to look around to see whether in fact they were paying homage to Prophet (saw) in his presence. Surely enough he said as I started to look around I saw that just next to the Bab-e-Abdul Aziz, I saw a huge thrown of gold upon which I saw the majesty of the personality of the Prophet (saw). At this sight he says I started crying in my dream and also joined the ground in sending salutations and blessings to the Messenger of Allah. After a few moments, he said I saw on the right of the Prophet (saw) another small throne upon which a bazurq (holy person) was sitting. I was very surprised to see the small throne and I was inquisitive in wanting to find out who this glorious person would be. He narrates that he stood to his right in order to get a full view of this person, and he said he had full sight of this person and had the opportunity of saying salaam, to which the bazurck replied with salaam and placed his hand on the middle of his chest and bowed slightly in response. He said that after this exchange. I heard the azan (call to prayer) from the Kabah and I went inside following the Holy Prophet (saw) and this bazurq and inside we read salah (prayer) behind the Prophet (saw). With the salam of prayer, Noor Sahib exclaimed that he woke up. I then asked him how this dream was connected with Hazrat Sahib (RA), and at this point he stated tearfully that a few days ago he had seen a picture of Hazrat Sahib (ra) in a newspaper and realized that the bazurq he had seen sitting next to the Prophet (saw) was indeed Hazrat Sahib (RA). After making inquiries with the newspaper, he was able to make his way to Coventry, England to Hazrat Sahib (RA). At this point Hazrat Sahib (ra) came in to meet with him, and he re-narrated the whole dream to Hazrat Sahib (RA). At this junction I intervened and told Noor Saab how strange it was in what he saw in his dream in that Bab-e-Abdul Aziz is clearly associated with Hazrat Sahib (ra) as indeed, in all the nineteen hajj that Hazrat Sahib (ra) has performed, if anybody wanted to meet Hazrat Sahib (ra) he would advise them that they should try to meet him outside this door as he would be passing through Bab-e-Abdul Aziz before and after every prayer in the day, therefore ensuring that anybody could meet Hazrat Sahib (ra). It is at this gate that Hazrat Sahib (ra) convene meetings with thousands of people, namely murideen who have gathered from all over the world and used to sit with them to talk to them about their personal guidance. It was also very strange that the hand gesture with which Hazrat Sahib (ra) responded to the salaam of Noor Saab in the dream, was typical of Hazrat Sahib (ra) and it was evident that this detail could not be made up by somebody who had never met Hazrat Sahib (ra) before, and had narrated a dream just to catch Hazrat Sahib (ra) attention. Hazray Sahib (ra) always dressed simply but carried with him a grace of premiership in such manner that his taqwa was expressive from just looking at his face. People were dazzled in just his presence and were absolutely absolved in his direction. One such incident was the start of a cultural revolution which took place amongst the Surinamese community settled in Holland. In 1974 Hazrat Sahib (RA) happened to be passing through Holland and he was invited to spend a few moments there, by people who had heard give "Khutba" in England. Consenting to this request he was further asked whether he would like to participate in a wedding that was taking place. Hazrat Sahib (RA) assumed that this was a regular wedding and extended his stay to participate in this wedding function. Those present there now recall that they were surprised to see an Alim and a Sheikh attend a wedding in which most of the Muslim women were dressed in mini skirts, no covering on their heads and ready to dance on the floor after the weddings dinner, to beat of a band and a singing group that had been invited to the function. Hazrat Sahib (RA) was performing the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Peace be Upon Him here, as he recalls that the Prophet did not wait for people to come to him, so that they can be directed to the good path, he used to go out to them, in order to convert the immoral to goodness. One of the organizers of the event asked Hazrat Sahib (RA) whether he would liked to recite either an Ayat of the Holy Qur'an or maybe say a few words before the start of the dinner. Hazrat Sahib (RA) agreed to say a few words and got up to the microphone and in his customary tune, started to read the Khutbah in Arabic the language (press here to listen to magical voice of Hazrat Sahib (RA) reading this Khutbah) As Hazrat Sahib (RA) started reading this Khutbah, everybody was not just dazzled with his sight; but went into a state of trans whilst hearing this beautiful voice. It was as they recall, an angel reciting the Holy Qur'an. After ten minutes of recitation of the Arabic Khutbah, Hazrat Sahib (RA) delivered his sermon in the Urdu language. The audience were spell bound to such an extent that an hour and an half had passed, of Hazrat Sahib (RA) delivering his sermon, and everybody had forgotten that a wedding was to take place. When Hazrat Sahib (RA) finished his sermon he sat down to dinner and at that stage the bride and the bridegroom specifically requested their parents, that so touched were they with this sermon that they would asked the audience's forgiveness, if after the receipt of such purity they were allowed to cancell the singing and the dancing, as it had clearly become inappropriate. This was the start of the magical transformation of the Surinamese community. Over a period of nineteen years, Hazrat Sahib (RA) was able to develop this community of around three hundred thousand Muslims living in Holland to the extent that, now if you are to visit any wedding that is to take place, you will find that only the odd lady in the audience will be without hijab. Instead of the signing and dancing that was and is prevalent amongst wedding globally, you will find the conduct of a proper Islamic wedding in which praise of Allah Almighty and His Beloved Prophet and Dua's are conducted, for the betterment of the bride and bridegroom. Through love and affection, of Hazrat Sahib such was the intensity of the transformation, that persons within this community who were deemed to be totally immoral, corrupt and unfair in their dealings changed themselves totally. It was this level of affection and respect of this community that lead to the building of the purpose built Mosque in Holland, named as the Taybah Mosque in Amsterdam, for which people paid several million Guilders upon the instruction of Hazrat Sahib (RA). I remember on one occasion when a huge congregation had been invited to listen to some the great Ulema's of the Sunni world, through whose inspiration it was hoped that monies would be collected for this Taybah Mosque. In their own way and manner of speech the Ulema invited the congregation to participate, but found that everyone was participating with pennies rather then pounds. One Alim stood up and said to the audience that if they did not give money to the Mosque then he would not allow Hazrat Sahib (RA) to speak to them. There was an uproar at this and for the purposes of the health and safety of this Alim he withdrew his threat and the congregation were assured that Hazrat Sahib (RA) would be speaking with them. When Hazrat Sahib (RA) started his address, the people gathered transcended into a state of ecstasy, to the extend that within a few minutes they had donated aver three hundred thousand Guilders. All the Ulema present were witness to the fact that this was indeed a karamat of Hazrat Sahib (RA). Similar dedication and devotion was noted amongst Hazrat Sahib's (RA) murideen in Burton Upon Trent, who in the first instance were young people not fully aware of their duties to Allah and his Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. With the assistance and guidance of Hazrat Sahib many of the established members of the communities saw the light of Islam, and reverted to being good and sincere Muslims. Their names are too numerous to mention but all of them will bear witness to the fact that each and everyone of them, at some time or another witnessed karamats of Hazrat Sahib which fortified their beliefs, that the path they had been directed to, was indeed the way of Allah Almighty.
One day a man came to Hazrat Sahib (RA) in Coventry and said to Hazrat Sahib (RA), I have come here to pick a fight with you. Those around Hazrat Sahib (RA) very quickly surrounded Hazrat Sahib (RA) in case this man was true to his word. This man pleaded with Hazrat Sahib (RA) to give him audience for a few moments as he wanted to explain why he wanted to pick a fight with Hazrat Sahib (RA). He said that the reason why he wanted to fight was because on Eid day, he read the Eid prayer behind Hazrat Sahib. He said he was very charmed by the manner in which the sermon was delivered, and then when people were invited to participate in the extension programme of the Mosque. He said he emptied his pockets and gave all the money he had for this noble cause. One of the murideen present responded to him that the story he told did not seem to be a good reason for picking a fight with a great Wali Allah. The man replied, that the reason why he had raised this subject was that, he was so mesmerized by Hazrat Sahib (RA) invitation, that he in fact gave all his money towards the construction of the Mosque, and he was left without any bus fare to go home, as a result of which he had to walk home, which was six miles away from the Mosque, on Eid day. At this everybody laughed and Hazrat Sahib (RA) asked the man what it is that he wants to advise Hazrat Sahib (RA) as a result of this story. The man responded by asking him whether it was possible that Hazrat Sahib (RA) can ensure that whilst his audience are in a state of this ecstasy, that he would remind them to keep enough money in their pockets to get home. Once I was in Nottingham, England, a few years ago and the elderly people of Nottingham, recalled a similar story when in the early 80's, they had brought a piece of land near the City Centre of Nottingham for the establishment of an Islamic Centre. On this occasion they asked Hazrat Sahib (RA) to come and lay the foundation stone and in the hall, in which the congregation had gathered, they had asked Hazrat Sahib (RA) to invite the audience to participate in the establishment of a historical Islamic Centre. Hazrat Sahib (RA) in his usual manner started addressing the people and when it came to offering their contributions, people were amazed that many pledged their life-savings for this project, and many of the women took-off all their jewellery that they were wearing, and decided to contribute to Allah's way. Such was the contribution of the people who had gathered that more then thirty thousand pounds has raised in 1978, from a community that was from no more than working class people. One of the distinguished specialties of Hazrat Sahib's (RA) spirituality was the fact that he possessed this special Dua's, which he prayed upon a special Taweez from which if administered properly to a pregnant woman, would assure that Allah would bless her with a son. This does not necessarily mean that this Taweez was based upon a sexual bias towards the male gender, but it helped many women who had tried many times to have a boy but had conceived girls all the time; and with special prayer of Hazrat Sahib (RA) they would finally conceive a son. Habib Saheb of Coventry and many other hundreds of people are evidence to this Karamat of Hazrat Sahib (RA). Hazrat Sahib (RA) had a special Wazeefa in which he would do special prayer on a Taweez, that where a women who was infertile due to physical reasons or a man being in the same position would conceive and then go on to give birth to a child. Such was the power of this prayer that many thousands of people have been reported to have conceived children, after being deprived of the beauty of having children. Some cases were examples of couples deprived of children for up to fifteen twenty years of their married life. Similarly Hazrat Sahib (RA) possessed many Wazaif and Taweez through which he would help many domestic disputes between husband and wife; the hate between husband and wife turning into love and affection; the distance between parents and their children drawn closer; the unity between brothers and unity between sisters and basically anything and everything that would ensure that the family unit and the social unit of any community was repaired. One occasion Hazrat Sahib (RA) was approached by a person of the Sikh faith and he asked whether Hazrat Sahib (RA) would be able to assist him in the physical paralysis of his daughter in law to the extent that she would not be able to speak, hear or see. The reason for this damning request was that he had recently transferred his wealth estimated at around fifteen million pounds in the name of his only son, and as soon as his daughter in law found out, she wanted a divorce, knowing that she would at least now get half of his monies. He offered Hazrat Sahib (RA) a twenty five percent of the saving that he would make thus Hazrat Sahib (RA) would receive the sum of just under four million pounds for the service. Hazrat Sahib (RA) responded to him asking firstly who it was that told him that Hazrat Sahib (RA) could do such things. The Sikh replied that he had widely heard of the great spiritual powers of Hazrat Sahib (RA) and therefore assumed that this meant that he could perform such miracles. Realizing that the man was misguided by his own assumptions and had not come with a malicious intention Hazrat Sahib (RA) decided to guide him, rather then rebuke him for making such an offensive suggestion to Hazrat Sahib (RA). Hazrat Sahib (RA) asked him the reason for his daughter in laws distance from his son and why the marriage had broken down. The real story behind this unfortunate situation was that the son and his wife did not love each other anymore. Hazrat Sahib (RA) asked the Sikh whether he would be interested in prayer, that would heal the matrimonial wounds between his son and his daughter in law, to the extent that his son and daughter in law would be in love with each other again. Hazrat Sahib (RA) explained that his job as a representative of Allah, was to heal wounds and to bring happiness and joy in people's lives rather than accomplishing the wicked assumption that he had come with. Hazrat Sahib (RA) proposed that if the son and the daughter in law marriage was repaired, then there would be no financial risks to him and they would become one big happy family again. Thinking that this was an impossibility the Sikh agreed and decided to undertake what prescription of prayer Hazrat Sahib (RA) had given for him and his son to read. Sure enough three months later the Sikh returned saying that the son and the daughter in law had patched up their marriage and were living happily together. In fact their love for each other was more stronger then at any time in their life. At this junction the Sikh offered Hazrat Sahib (RA) the same commission as he said with the first proposition Hazrat Sahib (RA) suggested to him that he should use some of that money for charitable purposes, but that Hazrat Sahib (RA) had no interest in his offer of monies, as Allah Almighty had given him enough to lead a respectable live. The only price Hazrat Sahib (RA) said that he would ask in return for this job well done, was that all of his family should for one hour a day in the morning take a bath and sit in a clean place and read the words "La Illaha Illallah". This the Sikh agreed to and continues to do so till this day. Hazrat Sahib (RA) used to say that when I help non Muslims with this kind of problem shooting and in return I ask them to do Zikr of Allah, I then pray to Allah that "oh Allah I have changed their tongues, now it is for you to change their hearts to your way and Islam". As a result of this methodology many thousands of Sikhs and Hindus and Christians have turned towards Islam. This is the reason why till today you will see that Hazrat Sahib's (RA) shrine is attended by people of the Muslim and the non Muslim faith alike. Maulana Muhammad Munir Saheb has narrated that there was a man called Musa Bhai in Coventry whose sister was in a coma after a heart attack. Musa Bhai had came to Hazrat Sahib (ra) asking him for his prayers and Hazrat Sahib (ra) gave him a Taweez and told him to place it on her heart. Exactly eleven days later, he said Musa Bhais' sister came out of coma and she was fully revived with only ten percent loss of memory. This Karamat had been expressed after the fact that doctors had said that only a few days after the coma they would switch of the life support machine. One day Maulana Munir Saheb came to see Hazrat Sahib (ra) and Hazrat Sahib (ra) had commented to him the poem of Sadi, The Great poet who said "Imroz shahi shahah mehmah shodest marah"(if one day the great Prophet of Islam became a guest of honor at my home, Sadie would serve his Master. Maulana Munir asked Hazrat Sahib (ra) why it was that he was reciting this poem of Sadi, to which Hazrat Sahib (ra) had replied that he had such an opportunity of serving his Master the Holy Prophet Peace be Upon Him. Maulana Munir reports that one day a couple came from Coventry, England to see Hazrat Sahib (ra) who complained that the wife had a hole in her heart and that the doctors had said that she would never be able to bear children. Hazrat Sahib (ra) gave her a taweez and a few weeks later the same doctors diagnosed that there is no hole in her heart and that she would be capable of having children. Maulana Mohammed Munir narrates that when Hazrat Sahib (ra) passed away, he saw that Hazrat Sahib (ra) was wearing a necklace made of diamonds and Hazrat Sahib (ra) was being taken away to head a procession, celebrating the glory of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). He also narrates that two days after Hazrat Sahibs' (ra) burial, he saw that the roof of the Jamia Islamia on Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry, England had been taken off the building, and rain was being showered inside of the building. He understood that this meant to be the rain of 'rehmat' (blessing) which were being showered upon Hazrat Sahib (RA). Hazrat Sahib (RA) was responsible for the conversions of many Mirzais to Islam in Surinam and the Netherlands. During his course of his trips to Surinam, he met many communities who were known as the Ahmadiyya group. Many of the mainstream Sunni Muslim organizations had marginalized these organizations rightfully, for believing that their principles of Islam were compromised by the acceptance of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian as a prophet of Allah. There were some amongst them who considered Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as Mujahdid, but it is common fatwa of all the Ulema of Ahle Sunna that to call someone a Mujahdid who had claimed himself to be a prophet also makes that person outside the realm of Islam. On many occasions Hazrat Sahib (RA) spoke openly and courageously about these issues. As Hazrat Sahib's (RA) message was always presented in a peaceful and serene manner, many of the members of other organizations used to come to listen to his lectures. On one occasion, a man by the name of Dr Jamalud Din who was the head of a group of Ahmadiyya in Surinam came to listen to Hazrat Sahib's (RA) lecture. Hazrat Sahib (RA) in a very polite but emphatic manner clarified that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had claimed to be a prophet of Allah and that he had claimed to being the Jesus, Lord Krishan of the Hindu faith and finally being Allah himself. Dr Jamalud Din approached Hazrat Sahib (RA) in a very angry manner and started to argue with Hazrat Sahib (RA) stating that all of the allegations made against Mirza Ghulam Ahmad by Hazrat Sahib (RA) was false. Hazrat Sahib (RA) said to him that these are not just simple accusations but they are borne out of clear wordings of the writings and teachings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad himself. Dr Jamalud Din demanded to know the name of book and the references to which Hazrat Sahib (RA) had quoted from when making his speech. Hazrat Sahib (RA) gave him those references and promised him that on his next visit he would bring the same books with him to Surinam. When Hazrat Sahib (RA) came back a year later to Surinam he brought those books with him and invited the doctor to see the actual proof of the statements that Mirza Ghulam Ahmed had made, which made him out of the bounds of Islam. Upon seeing this the said doctor promised that he would show this to the rest of his Jamaat and said to Hazrat Sahib (RA) that by Allah he could swear that he never knew that Mirza Ghulam Ahmed had gone so far in making such false claims and that they were known as the Ahmediya group on the basis that they had been told that Mirza Ghulam Ahmed was a great scholar of Islam and a great Maulana just like Hazrat Sahib (RA). He was told that the Ahmediya organization was persecuted because some Pakistani Ulema did not like the great leadership skills of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed. Hazrat Sahib (RA) rejected this philosophy in understanding the reality of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed and exposed this organization through the writings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed, as to how deviant he was from the real Islam. A few days later the same doctor came back to Hazrat Sahib (RA) and said to him that he would like Hazrat Sahib (RA) to visit his organization and all the main members of his organization which amounted to over two hundred persons. Dr Jamalud Din said that they would like to join main stream Islam and read the Shahadah again under the supervision of Hazrat Sahib (RA). However the doctor said that Hazrat Sahib (RA) would have to spend more time in teaching them about the Mazhabs of the different Imams of Islamic schools of Law and then after learning which Mazhab they prefer, then the organization would be in a position to choose whether they shall follow Imam Azam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi, Imam Ahmed bin Hambl or Imam Malik. Hazrat Sahib (RA) was content to let them be converted to Islam in the first instance, and then to be "muqallid" (follower) of any particular Imam at a later stage, when they had gained an opportunity to study more about the practices and teachings of the various Imams. This approach was seen to be dynamic, as in the past when other Sunni Ulema had come to the shores of Surinam and had been asked about their opinions of the Ahmediya organization, they had contended that if on one occasion they had the choice between saving a pig or an Ahmediya they would save the pig and let the Ahmediyah drown. Hazrat Sahib (RA) da'uah strategy did not include such harsh methodology, but a methodology of educating the masses about the realities of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed and as a result of this, many as thousands of Ahmedis in Surinam, South America and Africa and Europe became Muslims in the proper way. Hazrat Sahibs' (ra) recitation of the Holy Qur'an was so beautiful that many Sheikhs and Qaris from Egypt used to come and take personal tape recordings of Hazrat Sahib (RA) tilaawat of the Holy Qur'an, in his unique manner and try to emulate and copy him when they returned. They would offer the same recording for hearing to their friends, saying that the recitation of the Qur'an in this manner was a clear exposition of not only how the Qur'an should be read but also the magical way in which the Qur'ans recitation enchants the hearers mind and heart. It is sometimes commented by some Islamic scholars that the Qur'an was revealed in Hijaz, read in Egypt and understood in the indo subcontinent. The Qari's and the Sheikh's that used to come from Egypt always used to comment that the Egyptians were the bearers of the flag, for the recitation of the Qur'an but if Hazrat Sahib (RA) would allow them to reveal his identity, many of those who comment in the above manner would change their minds about Egyptian recitation of the Holy Qur'an. Haji Irshad Ahmed is one of Hazrat Sahib
(RA) Khalifas who has narrated that in 1982 he went Haj and that time
he was not mureed with Hazrat Sahib (RA), but had gone there with
his wife having had knowledge that Hazrat Sahib (RA) was also going
to be present during the course of that Haj. He had not met Hazrat
Sahib (RA) or had not made any plans to meet him except that when
he was there in the Haramein, the desire to meet Hazrat Sahib (RA)
grew stronger and stronger. One day in desperation he narrates that
he made a special Dua in the Haram asking Allah Almighty for an opportunity
to meet Hazrat Sahib (RA). He said as soon as I had made that prayer
I turned round and having taking a few steps forward low and behold
I saw Hazrat Sahib (RA) walking towards with his arms open ready to
embrace him. I knew then that Hazrat Sahib (RA) was a man of great
spirituality and close to Allah Almighty and the answer to my prayer
and very soon there after he said that I decided to pledge my spiritual
allegiance by giving bait to Hazrat Sahib (RA). Khalifa Abdul Raheem narrates that he has conducted over twelve Haj in the company of Hazrat Sahib (ra) and on each and every occasion whenever Hazrat Sahib (ra) would visit the Prophet's Mosque and exit there from, people of all nationalities, including Pakistanis, Moroccans, Turks, Arabs would all run to embrace him and kiss his hands. These were all people that did not know Hazrat Sahib (ra) but such was the glory on the face of Hazrat Sahib (ra) that everybody was compelled to embrace him in order to be the recipient of spiritual benefit. Khalifa Abdul Raheem narrates that Hazrat Sahib (ra) on one occasion told all members of the congregation gathered in one of the camps in Mina that they are not to stone the Satan at a particular time. Some of the Ulema gathered in the congregation stood up to object to Hazrat Sahibs' (ra) direction as they said that this was the most preferred time according to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Peace be Upon Him and therefore Hazrat Sahib (ra) direction to his murideen not to do so, was against the Sunnah. Hazrat Sahib (ra) accepted that this was correct but he said to the Ulema that on this particular occasion I am asking those who are congregated here not to go to stone the Satan at this time. Two days later Khalifa Abdul Raheem reports that a huge fire occurred in one of the tunnels, when the Hujaj were going to stone the Satan and it was exactly at the time that Hazrat Sahib (ra) had stopped his Murideen from going. With the news of this fire the Ulema returned to Hazrat Sahib (ra) and accepted that Hazrat Sahib (ra) was not just only a great Alim of great piety but also a great Saint from Allah (SWT). Khalifa Abdul Raheem narrates many incidents where he was with Hazrat Sahib (ra) in Brazil, Venezuala , Trinidad and many other countries whereby people came forward and offered hospitality to Hazrat Sahib (ra) when neither they knew his actual status nor they knew his position in the world, and neither were they introduced to him by any of the locals. He said strangers would come up to him and greet him as if they had known him all their lives and he made them feel as if they were members of his family and indeed Hazrat Sahib (ra) had the ability to reach the highest levels of humanity. Khalifa Abdul Raheem narrates that on many occasions there were instances whereby seats for planes could not be found as the ticketing agents and the airline staff had said that seats were not available. He says that all occasions whenever Hazrat Sahib (ra) wanted to travel, his traveling plans were never interrupted more then an hour behind time, and seats used to become available in a very unusual manner. On many occasions he narrates that Hazrat Sahib (ra) was late in arriving at the airport for his flights to various destinations, due to the fact that many people used to prevent him from keeping to his time schedule, as they wanted to spend as much time as possible with him, but in the end planes could not leave the airport, and were always standstill due to some fault or another until such time as Hazrat Sahib (ra) would arrive on the plane and then the captain would announce that suddenly the fault had disappeared. On one occasion he says that we were in Guyana and we needed to go to Trinidad and the airline staff at the airport had said that there were no flights available until the following day. The flight that was about to take of was completely full and there would be no chance for Hazrat Sahib (ra) or Haji Abdul Raheem to get on that flight. The airline staff said that all passengers had already been seated on the plane. On that occasion he said Hazrat Sahib (ra) told the airline staff that he would wait for the availability of seats at the airport and would not go back to the home where had been staying in Guyana. On that occasion the plane could not leave for five hours because of a technical fault and within those five hours the airline staff realized that two persons were illegal immigrants and had to be taken of, as they would not be allowed to travel to Trinidad. When those passengers came off Hazrat Sahib (ra) was given the opportunity to travel and I knew in my mind that Hazrat Sahib (ra) knew all along that these two people would be taken of, and the fact that the technical fault would have continued until such time as the airport staff realized the mistake that they had made. One day sin Surinam Hazrat Sahib (ra) was being confronted by a man who insisted on wanting to see how it is that Hazrat Sahib (ra) is was deemed to be a friend of God. HAZRAT SAHIB (RA) persisted in not answering him but upon his insistence Hazrat Sahib (ra) told him to go home and be with his mother who was cutting vegetables for the evening meal. The man knew that this was enough to test whether Hazrat Sahib (ra) was truly a Saint of Islam. He went home and sure enough he found that his mother was cutting vegetables at that time in preparation for the evening meal. He returned back to the home where Hazrat Sahib (ra) was staying and embraced Hazrat Sahib (ra) and said that he found that Hazrat Sahib (ra) was truly a great Wali Allah. Haji Abdul Raheem reports another incident when he states that he was in the company of Hazrat Sahib (ra) and Hazrat Sahib (ra) was leading a group of many hundreds of people from Makkah to Mina for the performance of Hajj. Upon their return to Makkah they found that their belongings had been interfered with and a lot of their money had been stolen. Hazrat Sahib (ra) then told all the murideen that before he left he saw a dream whereby he saw a bird that was crushed the reason for which he did not know and as a consequence had died. He said as he was making his way to leave the place where the bird was laying, suddenly the bird had got up and started flying again. Upon questioning what this dream meant Hazrat Sahib (ra) said that this dream meant that the people who were with him would find that their money would be stolen and that their plans to return back to England would be interrupted because they would not have enough money. Some of the mureeds started thinking well if Hazrat Sahib (ra) had had this dream and he knew that this is what it meant why did he not say before they left for Mina to take their money with them so that at least this theft would have been prevented. However some of them asked Hazrat Sahib (ra) how it is that the bird that came back to life again would be helpful for the relief of their injury due to the theft. Hazrat Sahib (ra) said that in due course they will find out. Two days later Haji Abdul Raheem reports that the landlord of the said hotel upon finding that the theft had taken place decided to cut the rent to be paid to him by half. When that concession was distributed to the rest of the Hujaaj in fact every body found that they had received exactly enough money to the penny, what had been taken away from them. It was only then that the persons with Hazrat Sahib (ra) realized that the dream of a Wali Allah can never be wrong. |
