He came to this world at a time when there was descent and strife and oppression of the Muslim Ummah. The English had been expanding via the East India Company, having taking advantage of the division people of South East Asia. By 1799, the English has conquered the Bangal, Bihar and other surrounding areas and had conquered the last hope of the Muslim Ummah by defeating Tipu Sultan and taking control over Mehsur. The Nizaam of Hydrabad had pledged to become a watchdog for the English and the impact of the might of the British Empire had started to affect the Court in Delhi. On the other hand, in the Punjab, Ranjeet Singh had taken a strong grip and by 1807 he had taken the Western part of the River Sackladge and by 1818 he had taken over Multan and the following year he had taken control over Kashmir as well. The brutality and the genocide of the Muslims was taken place from both sides and the Mughal King around this time by the name of Shah Alam Sani and Akber Shah, were Kings in name only. As part of Ranjeet Singh's conquest, Qusoor Sharif had also been conquered after the defeat of the Afghan rulers of Qusoor.

In the Punjab, they had as yet not been the establishment of a credible centre for the teachings of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order and this is why Hazrat Shah Abdullah Ghulam Ali Delhvi (RA) appointed Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Qusoori Daimul Hazoori (RA) to undertake this task. His Sheikh had instructed him that he would be responsible for the whole of the Punjab in order to bring about the purification of its people.

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) was from the lineage of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) and his ancestor Hazrat Khawaja Abdul Malik Sahib had traveled from Sindh to Qusoor to reside these. He had married the daughter Wakeel Khan who was of Mughal origin. Hazrat Khawaja Abdul Malik Sahib (RA) was familiar with the internal and external sciences. His son, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Murtaza (RA) became very famous as he was a hafiz of Qur'an (committed to memory the whole of the Holy Qur'an), Alim (Scholar in Islam) of Deen, Sheikh-ul-Hadith (Hafiz of most of the Hadith), Scholar of the Modern Sciences and a great Poet with excellent taste. It was said that Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza's (RA) class of graduate students used to exceed 500 as he used to teach them the Natural Sciences and the Spiritual Sciences.

Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza (RA) was the teacher of the very famous poet Baba Bullih Shah and also the very famous poet Hazrat Pir Waris Shah, the author of Heer and Ranja. It is once said that some students came to complain to Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza about Hazrat Waris Shah about the fact that he had found romanticism in his poetry and he is only focused on that. The students said that this would be a source of disgrace for the teacher. Consequently, Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza summoned Hazrat Waris Shah and heard his poetry and upon hearing it, he said 'tuni manj ke naseeran muthi parvay he', 'You have embroidered diamonds in the rope of a bed.' Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza left Punjab due to political unrest and therefore organized an Institute of Learning and left his son, Hazrat Ghulam Mustafa in charge of that and he, himself left for Peshawar, where 2 years after he past away. Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza was buried in Peshawar until 8 years his body was excavated and taken to Qusoor Sharif. It is said that whilst the body was being transferred, the Tabut Sharif (coffin) was being taken in great glory and honour, the Sikhs thought that this box contained great treasures. When the Sikh leader opened the box, he found that the left leg was injured and fresh blood was flowing from it. They quickly closed back the box and let the procession pass. Hazrat Ghulam Murtaza was buried in the main graveyard of Qusoor. Hazrat Ghulam Mustafa who was sitting on the masnad of his father, and was also learned in the Natural and Religious Sciences, took over the Institution of Learning and took it to great heights. He only had one son who was named Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA).

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) was only 1 year old when his Hazrat Ghulam Mustafa passed away. His uncle, Maulana Sheikh Qusoori (RA), undertook his upbringing. Hazrat Maulana Sheikh Qusoori (RA) was a great Alim-e-Deen and also a Sufi of the Qadria Sufi Order. Initially he learnt everything from his uncle and during the upbringing, his uncle taught him all logical and philosophical arguments for the betterment of the Islamic faith and his uncle also awarded him the Khilaafat (Representation ) of the Qadria Sufi Order.

After the completion of his education, he wanted to visit different places, and therefore he visited Brelvi, where some members of his family had lived and also in his return journey, he visited Delhi, where he met Hazrat Shah Ghulam Ali Delhvi. Upon meeting Hazrat Shah Sahib, who saw from his spiritual insight, that the young man had great potential, he offered him to become the Muraad for Hazrat Shah Sahib in that he himself will become desired. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) declined with respect as he knew that his uncle was alive at the time and he had already taken permission in the Qadria Sufi Order. Thereafter when his uncle passed away, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) returned back to Delhi and then approached Hazrat Shah Sahib to say that now the Muraad of Hazrat Shah Ghulam Ali Delhvi could be completed. Thereafter, he was initiated in the Sufi order of Mujadidia Naqshbandia.

When Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) appeared in the presence of Hazrat Shah Sahib, Hazrat Ghulam Ali (RA) exclaimed that today a great command from Allah Almighty is being expressed, a great young man is about to enhance himself on Allah's way and after that he raised both of his hands and made du'a and said 'O Allah, the faiz that you have given to Hazrat Ghausul Azam, give the same faiz to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin'. Then he took his left hand into his own right hand and raised it and said that Hazrat Ghausul Azam will help you in your religious and worldly struggles. Then he took the cap off his own head and placed it on Hazrat Khawaja's Sahibs head and prayed for his eternal betterment.

One day, Hazrat Shah Ghulam Ali Dehlvi explained in the presence of the Mufti of the City that this Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin has been able to achieve spiritually in the last 3-4 months what the Mufti Sahib could not achieve in the last 6-7 years. He said that this is a result of the award that Allah Almighty had given to him in his old age.

When Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin used to come from the Punjab to Hazrat Shah Ghulam Ali Dehlvi, he used to refer them to Hazrat Khawaja Sahib for guidance.

One day Hazrat Shah Sahib summoned all of his murideen and said that today you are to focus on your heart and think of something that is the most dearest desire in your heart, and I will pray to Allah Almighty and that will be accepted. Before enhancing on such a du'a, he saw the Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was not present and therefore he asked for him to be especially to be part of the du'a in order that the supplication could be accepted.

When Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was resident in Delhi, he took a specific graduation of Hadith from Haji Shah Abdul Aziz Muhadi Dehlvi.

One day Hazrat Shah Sahib spoke to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and said that very soon I would give you a spiritual test and I would take that spiritual test in front of myself. On Wednesday the 27th of Sha'ban, Hazrat Shah Sahib invited Maulana Muhammad Azeem (RA) and Sahibzada Rauf Ahmed who were his Khalifahs and said that I have summoned you for the purposes of bearing witness that I am about to give Khilafat to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin. He then asked Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin to sit close to him and taught him the ways of the six Sufi Orders, which are Qadria, Naqshbandia, Chistia, Surwardia, Mujadidia, and Qirwavia and specifically taught him the separate ways of each every Sufi Order. He then placed his own cap on the head of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and said that this not my cap but the cap of my Sheikh and for a long time kept his hand on his head. On the 27th Ramadhan, after the Maghrib prayer, Hazrat Shah Sahib summoned Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin once again and gave to him his own chadr and then dressed him with the special paghri (turban) of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order.

One day after, Eid-ul Adha prayer, Hazrat Shah Sahib was swamped by the people who wanted to greet him, and in the middle of this he saw that Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was sitting in the corner waiting to embrace him, once the crowds has left. Hazrat Shah Sahib of his own accord, asked where is Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin, at which call, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin went quickly to embrace Hazrat Shah Sahib, and upon embracing each other, Hazrat Shah Sahib made a du'a for Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin.

One day Hazrat Shah Sahib went to the Mizaar (Shrine) of his Sheikh, Hazrat Mirza Mazhar Janijanah and took some of the dust of the floor and rubbed it on his eyes and on his forehead and sat at his feet side and, said 'Oh Hazrat I have become very old and I cannot even pray or read Qur'an for very long periods, because of my age. All my life I have been kept in comfort, now I would ask you to pray to Allah that my end be peaceful'. He also said, 'I have brought to you Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and I want you to take him under your care and I want you to bless him with your special direction'.

In one letter, in which Hazrat Shah Sahib wrote to his famous Khalifah, Hazrat Khalid Qadi he wrote that Allah Almighty has blessed me very much with the sending of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin of Qusoor, who has in few months raised his spiritual profile in the Mujadidi Tariqah and has gained a unique position.

In a letter to Maulana Basharatullah Bhirlichee, he wrote that, 'I usually say to people that I have 3-4 close spiritual friends in which you are one and Abu Said Rauf Ahmed are the others and Ahmed Said and now another who has come on the scene, which is Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin of Qusoor.

There was a teacher of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin by the name of Hazrat Babullah who decided that he would visit Baghdad, Iraq and visit the Shrine Hazrat Ghausul Azam, Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA). When he made that intention, that same night, Hazrat Ghausul Azam appeared to him and said that you want to come and see my shrine but you do not have to go through this long torturous journey, for you can see your student Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and seeing him is as if you have seen me. When Hazrat Babullah woke up he cancelled his plans to go to Baghdad.

When Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin came back to Qusoor, he became very busy with the development and the progressive tarbiyyah of thousands of his Murideen and normally he would sit after Maghrib prayer to discuss issues with most of those who had gathered. His Sheikh had instructed him that he should travel himself and go to visit people in order to guide them, therefore Hazrat Khawaja Sahib despite the journey and the burdens around the political situation at the time, continued to travel thousands of miles around the Punjab and ensure that he would visit every single province in order to spread the message of Islam and to initiate the tarbiyya of thousands of people.

When Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin would take somebody as mureed, he would first send Eesa -alih-Suwab to all the elders of the Sufi Order and then would take the hands of the mureed and ask him to recite Bismillah three times, Astaghfirullah three times, kalimah tayibah and then he would teach them the special recitation of Ur'raad of the Sufi Order and then ensure that the Mureed would abide by the Islamic laws and regulations.

One mureed by the name of Nawaab Shier Muhammad Khan Devanah, when he became mureed he told him to stay away from the Ulema who mislead on aqeedah, abide by the shariah and hate and detest the imperial rulers.

One day mureeds wrote him a letter saying that they were very perturbed by a person who troubles them on a daily basis. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin replied back to him, saying that do not be perturbed by this Afghani, who has reached the extremes causing problems, but say 'alhamdulillah'. I am glad about this relationship with him because due to his daily troubles, he saw that his mureed was taken to Baitul-Mamur and he led a prayer in front of many thousands of angels and this is the fruit of his patients with this troublesome Afghan. He would ask others to draw up on the same experiences as well. He wrote the ayat, 'Inallah ha ma saabireen'.

He used to instruct his mureed to read the Qur'an as much as possible and he used to say that that such recitation clears the blackness of the heart and gives you the peace of mind and heart. When his murideen used to relate that they had either learnt part of the Qur'an or understood with the tafseer of any part of the Qur'an he used to be overjoyed with happiness and exclaimed 'Alhamdulillah suma Alhamdulillah'. He wrote to his mureed Hazrat Lillahi (RA) that he should spend as much time as he can in reading Ur'raad and Waziaf, and he should work hard to get rid of the darkness of ignorance that has set upon our community, that you should overcome the powers of the shay'taan which leads you away from Allah's way and you should be content with Allah's qaza which is decision according to His (Allah's) desire. He said that religious knowledge without tasawwuf makes the man prone to become a fasiq and knowledge of tasawwuf without religious sciences can make a man misguide others, and he who has both, has found reality.

Karamaat

One day a man took Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin to pray at the grave of his relative who was a Hafiz of the Qur'an. On route, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin stopped at another coffin and started to pray at which the man said that this is not the coffin of Hafiz Sahib but Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin explained that this coffin is also the grave of a Hafiz and upon investigation, it was found that indeed that person in the second grave was also a hafiz of the Qur'an.

Suddenly he started to talk about an incident where Hazrat Ghausul Azam, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) was lecturing and the clouds had gathered and a sprinkle of rain started, at which Hazrat Ghaus Pak raised his eyes towards the sky and said speaking to the cloud, that I am collecting people for Allah's way and you are giving them trouble. Upon this address, the clouds dispersed and the weather became clear. As Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin explained this incident, people noted that similarly the clouds dispersed and the day became clear again.

One day people came because they had not received rain from many months and this was causing a drought in the area. They came to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin to make du'a to Allah Almighty so that it can rain and relieve them from the drought that was taking place. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin raised his head to the skies and pointed at the sky and inscribing in certain verses of the Qur'an, upon which the people present saw that immediately it started to rain.

One day a man came from the Province of Gujarat and he said that he had wanted a son and would Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin pray for him. Khawaja sahib suggested Noorul Ain as the name given and the next son to be called Noor Hussain. Two years later the man appeared and said that your servant Noor Hussain has been born and I want to congratulate you. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin replied that the next child call him Abdur Rehman. Another two year, the man appeared again and said I have named your servant Abdur Rehman. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin replied for next child call him Abdur Raheem. The man appeared a few years later and said I have named your servant, Abdur Reheem. This man explained how it was that every time that he had appeared in front of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin, Hazrat Khawaja sahib was able to foretell him not only the names but the gender of his children.

One of the very famous karamat of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was that if somebody had come for a taweez for a child, he would have a child. If the person was told that he should wrap the taweez in leather then that person would have a baby boy, and if he was told that he should wrap the taweez in silver, then the child would be a girl. One day a man appeared and he was given a taweez and told to wrap it in silver, at which the man replied I would like a son. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin replied that it is too late to have a son, because your wife is already four months pregnant.

One of his mureeds, by the name of Ghulam Hussain who was from Dera Isma'eel Khan wrote a letter that he did not have any sons and only had daughters up till now. One day a man came to ask Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin about who is the greater from the Ulema who are sadaat or shu'hudah. He (Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin) replied that in a few days time, such-a-such a person in your village would be killed by thieves whilst he is sleeping. On his funeral, there will be a man with a green turban, who will come riding on a horse. You should ask your question to him. Subsequently, the same thing happened and such a person was killed and a man in a green turban rode on a horse to attend the funeral prayer of this murdered victim and this man lead the funeral prayer. He then got back on his horse and was about to ride off when the person asked him the question again. He lifted the veil from his face and person realized that it was exactly the same person who had been killed. Thus in fact, he came to lead his own janazah (funeral prayer). The man replied what you see is the status of a sha'heed (martyred in Allah's way) but I cannot tell you the status of Ulema or the family of the Prophet (SAW), since their status is even greater.

One day Hazrat Ghulam Nabi Lillahi who was one of his mureeds said that he had accompanied him to the house of another mureed who had made food for khatam Sharif and upon attending such food, found that the food was not tasty as all. Hazrat Ghulam Nabi Lillahi says that I thought to myself why is it that people do not take care when they are ready to present food for Easa-alai-suwab for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Upon our return, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin opened his book by the name of 'Tuhfa Rasooliah´ and read to him a poem in which one of the verse related to the fact that those people who love Allah do not make criticisms an food, but praise Allah for what they have.

One of his Khaleefahs said that I was travelling outside of Qusoor and I saw women approach me and I lowered my view so that I would be able to pass by unnoticed. The women when they passed me joked that this man acts more like a woman. He said that when I arrived back in the presence of my Sheikh, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin then of his own accord reiterated the story of Hazrat -e-Sheikh Saadi, who was a very handsome person, but due to his modesty, used to hide himself from people. One day when he came to Multan, he saw some women approaching and they had said that Saadi is hiding his face because he is acting like a woman. To this Hazrat -e- Sheikh Saadi replied that this area has no decency and so therefore I will return from such an area.

One of his Khaleefahs said that one day we were traveling to Qusoor Sharif and in the heat of day, we were exhausted once we crossed the river of Jihlam, Pakistan. He said that I was accompanied by a person who was so exhausted due to his thirst that when he gained back his senses, he reminded me that Hazrat Sulaiman Tawnsvi (ra) was once on a journey and similarly his companions had fainted because they were very thirsty. Suddenly a man had appeared to them with cold water and quenched their thirst. The companion of Hazrat's Khaleefah said, does your Pir (Spiritual Sheikh/Guide/teacher) have the same miraculous powers. He had just said this and suddenly a man appeared who was calling for anyone who had wanted cold water. We drank this water knowing full well that in normal circumstances, they would be no water for many miles around.

There was an Imam of a Mosque to whom Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin had ordered that he should not continue with his habit in eating sadaqah food. The Imam refused to accept such decision on the basis that it was not haram for him to do so. One day he did that and suddenly he became blind. The members of the leadership of the village took him to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin prayed for him and he was able to see again. On another occasion the same Imam Sahib was forced to eat the food by the people of the village and the same Imam became blind and he died in the same condition.

One day Hakeem Khairuddin of Amaritsar narrates that there was once an invitation to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin at the house of Hakeem Mohammed Baksh who had a son who used to suffer from epileptic fits. He was told that despite all measures to cure, nothing had worked. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin at that moment was washing and told Hakeem Mohammed Baksh to take the water from the ablution and let the young man drink the same water. Hakeem Mohammed Baksh said that since that day his son never suffered from any fits.

Haji Imam Baksh of Ichrah in Lahore, Pakistan narrates that Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was once in Mazang, an area in Lahore and a Hindu came to him saying that his wife was possese by a jin and she would sit all day dazing at nothing. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin said that give her water which had been touched by himself. The next day the Hindu appeared bringing with him a pot of water. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin at a distance said that is enough now take it to your wife to drink. The next day the Hindu came back very joyful as he said that when he approached his wife for drinking it, the jin spoke and said do not give the water but when he gave it by force, she suddenly became well again.

One man from Sargodah, by the name of Miah Ghulam Mohammed Kilyaar said that he had asked for the daughter of a big landlord of his area for his son, but the landlord rebuked him saying that he would not give him the said daughter's hand in marriage. Miah Ghulam Mohammed Kilyaar complained to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin saying that he had disgraced him and Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin said to him to go back as the same landlord as he had been to his house three times in order to give his daughter's hand for marriage. Indeed when Miah Ghulam Mohammed Kilyaar when back to his home, the same had happened.

One person of the Sikh faith came very humbly to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and said that he was poor and to marry his daughters away, he needed lots of money for their dowry. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin gave him a taweez and told him to tie it to his turban and walk towards the west in the morning. Next morning, the person did so and as he had gone for some miles when he met two people who had axes in their hand who gave him a sack containing a dead animal and told him to take that home and not to open it until he got home, otherwise they would kill him. Out of fear, the Sikh brought the sack with the dead animal, but when he opened it found that the body of the animal had turned into gold. He used to same gold to marry his daughters and when somebody asked Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin about this great miracle, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin replied, I have fed the dead from the meat of the dead. He said this world is like the example of the dead meat and the person that pursues this world only, is like a dog who eats dead meat.

One day Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was passing a market in which he heard a Hindu continually saying this verse. "we live by the grace of the Ghangha River". When Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin heard this, he exclaimed to the woman why don't you say that we live by the grace of Allah Almighty. As soon as Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin had said this, the woman broke into a constant state of dhikr of Allah Almighty until she died. When her family tried to burn her body, as is the custom for Hindu tradition for the dead body, they found that despite many efforts they could not burn her body. In the end they came to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin, who ordered that her body be buried.

In 1945, in the World War II, the town of Qusoor had become a war front. One of the Mujahideen who were fighting in this war, was a person by the name of Major Khadim Hussain Shaheed, to whom Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin came in a dream and said that the enemy was coming from a particular direction. He asked in the dream, who this person was, and Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin gave him his own name. The said major said that indeed the enemies army were advancing against them from the particular direction, and he was responsible for cutting off their advancement with the help of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin. After the war, the Major said that I visited the mazaar (mausoleum) of the Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and offered my fatihahs (reciting certain verses of the Qur'an for the sawab for a particular person passed away) for the great assistance that he gave to me during the war time.

Hazrat khawaja sahib's face has been described as round like the moon, big eyes, from which you can see grace and purity as well as simplicity and honour. His colour was light brown, and his teeth were very closely placed together. He had a broad chest and modest built arm muscles. He was of medium build and had long and beautiful fingers. When he used to walk, he would walk as if he's skimming over the surface of the ground with his eyes bowed but his posture dignified and not paying attention to his right and left. He had a soft voice and never used to raise his voice to anybody. His voice had such depth that it would affect the hearts of those who were listening. The simple and the scholars would benefit equally from his words. In his eating habits, he never had any special tastes and would eat moderately. In anything he did, he used to bare in mind the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) and would use the miswak to clean his teeth before every prayer.

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) was a man who defended the Sunni Aqeedah ferociously. One day a man came to him protesting at the fact that he was called Daimul Hazoori Qusoori, which means that he was in the presence of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) all the time. The man said that he not only denies this but the said claims were false and only made to mislead, and that he would expose Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin, unless he found the reality behind such claim. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin that if he did not wish to believe in the claim then he did not have to do so. The man said that he would not let Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin escape easily and would either believe in him or expose him. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin told the man to come visit him at the same time in the same place as he would be leaving for Zuhr prayer from Mosque and he would then give him the proof. The next day Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was just about to leave the mosque and the man arrived promptly. He said 'you thought that I would not turn up'. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin replied that he wanted to avoid such confrontation, because such a situation does not create believers. The man replied that Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was not only making excuses but was exposing his reality of faking, in being in the presence of the Holy Prophet (SAW). At this blatant challenge, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin then told the man to go and pick up a book from his room inside the Mosque. The man exclaimed to the people who were present to bear witness that, if this was another excuse to try to get away, then people should bear witness to this exposure. The man went to the room. After over an hour the man did not return. After some time Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin returned to the Mosque with the people who gathered with him and saw that the man had fainted on the doorstep of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin's room. When the people awakened the man with a sprinkle of water, he quickly dashed to the feet of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin and touching his feet, he said that indeed when he had entered the room to pick up the book for Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin he saw that the Holy Prophet (SAW) was sitting at the place were Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin normally sits, and was sitting in an angry manner stating to the person, why is it that he did not believe that the Holy Prophet (SAW) was close to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin.

Maqtoobat Sharif

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was able to write poetry and on many occasions was able to write poetry without any preparation. His book, tuhfah rasooliah, is poetry on the praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and on His habits and His miracles in the Persian language. At the end of this book, a year before the birth of his son, Hazrat Khawaja Abdu Rasool (RA) foretells the birth of his son and how he would look and some of his habits, which again was another karamat of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin.

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin wrote to his Khulafah and told them to come to Qusoor Sharif on a particular date. When they all arrived he was very happy to see them and in 1855, he gave the first lesson on the Masnavi of Maulana Rum in which it was mentioned about passing away of friends of Allah and how they have eternal life. After this, he went into a complete muraqiba (spiritual trans) and passed away as he was given that last lesson. Such was the unexpected passing away that during the course of his silence, his students and murideen thought that Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin was only silent as he was undertaking spiritual focus, he was subsequently buried at the main graveyard of Qusoor Sharif.

His Shajadah Nasheen was Hazrat Khawaja Abdul Rasool who was born in 1861. Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool was a very humble person and when ever he would hear his own praise, he would weep at the fact that Allah may have not accepted such praise, and cause him distance from the Almighty. One day a mureed said that Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool was a Qutb of his time, and another student said that Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool status in Islamic knowledge no less than Hazrat Shah Abdul Aziz Dehlvi (RA). To both of these students of knowledge and spirituality, Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool was very angry, and reprimanded them that they should not make such bold claims. Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool took special care of the poor and if a very rich and affluent person came to pledge spiritual allegiance, he would always try to stall, saying that such people only come for the worldly possession and not to increase their spiritual contentment. He was very hospitable to all those who arrived, to the extent that if there was not enough bed coverings for his guests, he would offer his own even if it meant sitting up all night. One day his son-in-law, Hazrat Syed Ghulam Hussain Shah, said that he was sitting one day in a room thinking about the fact that everything that Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool has he gives it away to people, then how will it be that the system of financing the house and the food for the guests will continue. Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool realized this spiritually and called his son-in-law to meet him and said, if you desire the material world so much, tell me how much money you need and I will provide it for you. He said that the people who work in Allah's way never want anything; Allah Almighty fulfills all their needs and desires.

Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool used to finance the food for the visitors by keeping an account with a local restaurateur, to whom he used to repay every six months without delay. Once there was a delay by a few weeks and the said restaurateur decided to say strong comments, thinking that he would not be paid. When Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool's servant, Hafiz Mohammed Khan told Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool about the situation, he said to Hafiz Mohammed Khan let go and clean the library. He gave Hafiz Sahib a branch of a date tree and said, start to dust the books. Hafiz Sahib that as soon as they started to do that, rupees (money in the Indian sub-continent) started to fall from nowhere and we had a surplus of rupees from which we paid the restaurateur and made clothes for all the poor people around our area and the rest was distributed amongst the very poor people.

There was a Nawaab Jilaluddin who was the owner of the Province of Mamdur and was a sincere mureed, did not have an heir. Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool prayed for him and told him that he will have a son and his name shall be Nizamuddin. Indeed such a boy was born and named the same. In his happiness the Nawaab asked Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool as to whether or not he would accept the ownership of many villages around him in order to help him to pay for the food, that he distributed to the poor. Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool refused the offer.

In his book, 'Hiyatul Tayabeen' by Maulana Imam Deen, writes that in 1293 hijri, I met Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool and I was amazed at the public popularity of the same person because every child in Qusoor was praising him.

Eleven days before he passed away, on the day of Ashurah he took his murideen to the graveyard and laid down on a plot of land in which he said was very suitable and very nice. As with his father, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) had done. Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool gave khutba (sermon) at the last Jumah (Friday prayers), having asked for his special khulafah to be there and gave a sermon on the Masnavi of Maulana Rum about death and gave a very touching khutba. Three days before his demise, he wrote three letters to his khulafah and told them that his final days have come and that they should come to Qusoor as soon as possible. On the 20th Muharram he looked at the Mosque for the last time and got on his horse to ride home for the last time. Half way to his home, he got off the horse and released the horse from his service and gave the horse its freedom. After the prayer of Isha he told his maternal grand-son, Syed Mohammed Shah that he would be given him the keys of the Library and bound around his head the Dastar-e-Khilaafat and gave him 100 Rupees, saying that this is what is left of his wealth and that he should use this money for his funeral, and whatever is left over he should give that to the poor. The doctors came and could not find any disease as everybody was worried about his condition, having found nothing suggested that he should take some energy tablets. As soon as the doctors left, Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool prayed the kalamah Sha'ha'dat and went into spiritual trans (muraqibah) and after a few moments after, he passed away.

As there is was direct desendent of Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool (RA), the spiritual inheritance went to Hazrat Syed Mohammed Shah (RA) who was his maternal grand-son and he promoted the spiritual tariqah in a very responsible manner. Hazrat Syed Mohammed Shah (RA) was from the Prophet's (SAW) family and of course his grand-father was of the family of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA). Hazrat Syed Mohammed Shah Sahib, although was mureed with Hazrat Khawaja Abdur Rasool Sahib (RA), but continued the Qadria Sufi Order and his nephew Hazrat Nazeer Ahmed Shah continued also in the Qadria Sufi Order. Thereafter his son, Hazrat Syed Shabeer Ahmed Shah and then his son, Hazrat Syed Munir Ahmed Shah have continued to extend the spirituality of Qusoor Sharif through the Sufi Order of Qadria.

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) had a number of other Khulafa. The most prominent amongst them was Hazrat Ghulam Nabi Lillahi and Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir Qusoori (RA).

Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir Qusoori (RA) was a great Alim and he learnt most of his Islamic and Natural Scientific education from Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin (RA). The ability to award the sanad of Hadith given to Hazrat Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) by Hazrat Shah Abdul Aziz Muhadis Delhvi was passed on by him to Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir Qusoori (RA). Therefore, in fact he was the true inheritor of Hazrat Khawaja Muhuyuddin (RA) in terms of his Islamic education. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir was also the nephew of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin (RA) and also his son-in-law. He is responsible for writing many books including,

  • Tufah Dastigir
  • Risalah Hidayatul Saliheen
  • Oamdantun Biyan fee Iamatu Numan
  • Risalah Taqdeesul Wakeel
  • Risalah Urvatul Maqalideen
  • Sharah Tufah Rasoolia

Al'la Hazrat Maulana Shah Mohammed Reza Khan Brilwvi (RA) writes in his 'Tehreer Sambant' that one of the first persons to conduct a Munazira (debate) with a person of the Ghair-Mukhlid (Wahabi School of Thought) was Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir Qusoori (RA) who was also the Vice-Chancellor of Bahawalpur University and in front of the Nawab of Bahawalpur, conducted a debate with Khaleel Ahmed Ambaithwi who had polluted the area by his misguiding beliefs. The Nawab of Bahawalpur had asked Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir to conduct this debate as the Nawab's own son was being mislead by Khaleel Ahmed. Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Dastigir initiated the debate on the issues of Ilm-e-Ghaib, Hazir Nazir, and the Light of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). On all three issues he was able to defeat Khaleel Ahmed categorically from the evidence of Qu'ran and Hadith and therefore the Nawab of Bahawalpur ordered that Khaleel Ahmed should never return back to his kingdom again.

The other Khulifah of Hazrat Ghulam Muhuyuddin Daimul Hazoori Qusoori (RA) were Hazrat Hafiz Noorul Deen of Chankuri Sharif in the Province of Gujuraat, Hazrat Mufti Ghulam Muhuyuddin of Namak Miani of the Province of Sargurdha, Hazrat Ghulam Mohammad from Miraali, which is the Province of Dira Isma'eel Khan, Maulana Badurul Deen from Ludaikhi and Mian Ashraf Brelvi, Shiekh Ataullah Qhandari, Hafiz Sardaar Sahib, Mohammed Khan Ali Zaheer, Mian Ahmed Sahib, Mian Uthman Sabagh, Maulana Wali Mohammad, Maulana Faiz Muhammad, Maulana Saleh Muhammad Qhangahi, the author of 'Silsalah Awliya', Mian Karam Ilahi, Maulana Mahmoodgi.

Hazrat Munizir-e-Azem, Mohammed Umar Sahib Ichirvi (RA) records that on many his Sheikh, Hazrat Sheri Rabbani Mian Sher Mohammad Sahib Sharqpuri (RA) used to travel to Qusoor, to the Mizaar of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin (RA). He reports that upon entering Qusoor, Mian Sahib would take off his shoes and walk barefooted throughout Qusoor out of respect for Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Muhuyuddin (RA). Indeed Qusoor was famous for the fact that it contains a great Saint and Qusoor shall always remain one of the great cities of Pakistan and South-East Asia for its historical and spiritual contributions to the whole area.
